DAY 1 - DEPART USA

Depart for your week adventure in Ireland. Dinner, drinks and inflight entertainment will be offered on your flight to Shannon.

DAY 2 - ARRIVE SHANNON

Arrive in Shannon early am, where you will be met by your driver/guide and escorted to your luxury motorcoach. Your drive today will take you south to Killarney via the picturesque village of Adare, stopping en route for an Irish coffee or Tea/Coffee and homebaked scones.

Then you will continue on to Killarney along the south coast of Ireland. Killarney town is best known for its beautiful lakes and jaunting cars. Overnight in the International Hotel or similar.

In the afternoon perhaps visit Muckross House and Gardens which are the focal point of the National Park surrounding Killarney. Muckross House, is a 19th century manor house, beautifully situated close to Muckross Lake, second largest of Killarney's three lakes. Now a major visitor centre, the House has two main themes, the environment of the National Park and the folklore of County Kerry in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Welcome dinner in your hotel and enjoy a night on the town in Killarney - with lots of pubs to choose from.

DAY 3 - RING OF KERRY TOUR

This morning you will tour the Ring of Kerry, which takes you through spectacular mountainous scenery along the base of the highest mountain range in Ireland, the MacGillycuddy Reeks. The journey takes you through villages and towns depicting typical rural life in Ireland. It is really hard to explain the true beauty of the Ring of Kerry, except to say that it should not be missed.

Tonight an optional dinner and entertainment in Killarney's most famous Singing Pub - The Laurels. Overnight in International Hotel, Killarney or similar

DAY 4 - KILLARNEY - GALWAY VIA CLIFFS OF MOHER

After a hearty breakfast, drive nothwards towards Galway. You will cross the Shannon estuary at Tarbert into Co. Clare. Continue via the Burren - a visit to the Burren is not complete without a visit to the Cliffs of Moher followed by a 'rest' in Doolin's Pub situated on the pier known for its 'criac' and fun. In the afternoon continue via Ballyvaughan & Kinvara along Galway Bay and in Galway City.

En route to your city centre hotel your driver will do a brief orientation tour viewing Eyre Square, St Nicholas Church and the Spanish Arch. Galway is noted for its traditional Irish music and song. Galway nestles at the neck of Galway Bay and is reputed to have been Columbus' final point of departure on his epoch-making voyage of discovery. St Nicholas Church, medieval church, which is dedicated to the patron saint of sailors, was begun 1320. Spanish Arch, the name is a reminder of the city's trading links with Spain. Part of the medieval town wall is visible on the south side of the arch. Eyre Square - this is the focal point of the modern city between the old town and the docks centres on a small park, named after John F Kennedy.

DAY 5 - CONNEMARA

Today you can tour Connemara stopping off en route to view the turf cutting. Connemara is a wild and beautiful region of mountains, lakes, tumbling streams undulating bog, unspoilt beaches and panoramic views. It is a Gaelic- speaking region and has attracted many artisans, who can be visited at work in their studios. The centre of Connemara is composed of mountain peaks, the Twelve Bens or Pins which culminate in Benbaun (2388ft-728m). The sharp grey peaks of quartzite rock which is resistant to weathering are too steep and hard to be clothed in blanket bog. The region is now largely uninhabited, although in the past the more fertile lowlands were cultivated and the uplands were used as pasture for cattle and sheep.

Returning to Galway where you can enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants. Overnight in the Victoria Hotel or similar.

DAY 6 - GALWAY - KINNITY

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Galway City before heading to the Midlands to spend a night in a castle in Ireland, - Kinnity Castle. In the centre of Ely O'Carroll Counrty, Birr is one of Ireland's finest Georgian towns, with many town houses and public buildings of note along its tree-lined malls. Dominating the town, but intergrated with it in a unique manner, Birr Castle Demesne, the seat of the Earl of Rosse for 14 generations, is open all year round. Its gardens are among the best in Europe. The giant shell of the once largest telescope in the world - still adorns the front lawn. Birr is very much much part of the hidden Ireland, a gem in an Irish midland setting. Continue on to Kinnitty Castle for overnight.

DAY 7 - KINNITY - DUBLIN

Depart Kinnity for Dublin. En route you can stop in Locke's Distillery in Kilbeggan to tour the famous distillery and sample the whishey before continuing on towards Dublin. En route to your city centre hotel, your driver will do a brief orientation tour of the city - highlighting O' Connell Street, the Georgian Squares, the Embassies of the world, St Patrick's Cathedral and the Phoenix Park, where the President of Ireland and the US Embassador to Ireland reside. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore the many delights of Dublin such as the National Museum of Ireland, the National Gallery and Temple Bar, Dublin's bohemian quarters, just bursting with atmosphere and ambiance.

Tonight. is your last night in the Emerald Isle, if you wish you will be able to partake in an traditional Irish pub night.

Overnight in the Paramount Hotel, Dublin or similar on a bed & breakfast basis.

DAY 8 - DEPART DUBLIN

Alas it is time to bid farewell, your driver will transfer you the short distance from your hotel to the airport for your Tranatlantic flight to the US.
