Seapoint Golf links was designed by 'Des Smyth and Associates' and opened in June 1993. Seapoint is a championship course with a par of 72, measuring over 7,000 yards and constructed on 260 acres of linksland. Four sets of tee boxes on most holes and large manicured greens are features that are a pleasure to golfers all year round. Mature trees border the course on the west and offer a contract to the links, while water hazards come into play on five of the first nine holes. The closing holes are bordered by the beach and offer magnificent views of the East Coast, the Mountains of Mourne and the Irish Sea. 'Every inch a genuine linksland", said Des Smith, who designed the course. 1995 venue for the Dimplex Irish Murray Championship.
