A very popular venue with Irish golfers and societies. Knockanally Golf Club was designed by its owner, Noel Lyons. It has hosted the Irish International Professional Matchplay Championshio and the Irish Club Professional Championship. According to Christy O'Connor Snr., it has the most difficult opening hole in Irish golf. The course was built in 1985 and runs a route through woodlands bringing water into play on 7 holes. One of the most attractive is the par three 11th. Beautifully set amidst overhanging trees and protected front and right side by water. Index one is the 5th, a 424 yard dog leg left with water to the left of the green. Knockanally is about a 40 minute drive from Dublin's city centre.
