West Cork and the Beara Peninsula in particular is an area of exceptional scenic beauty. Here you will find a wonderful display of surprisingly colorful sub tropical flora, amongst which you can enjoy the beautiful Bantry Bay Golf Club. Built as a nine holer in 1975, British Seniors Champion Christy O'Connor Jnr. did the architectural work to extend the course to championship standard 18 hole layout in the mid 90's. The course measures 6500 yards and has a par of 71. It stretches along Bantry Bay and has a number of spectacular waterfront holes. The course offers a variety of challenges ranging from the 535 yard par 5 2nd to a target par 3 of 138 yards at the 9th. Bantry offers a beautiful day's golf to visitors to this unique part of Ireland.
